Frequently Asked Questions

How long is a typical session?

A typical session is between 50 and 55 minutes.

Do you have evening or weekend appointments?

Yes, I currently offer therapy at the following times:

Weekday early mornings (7-9 AM)

Weeknight evenings (between 5 - 9 PM)

Saturdays

Monday afternoons

Are you seeing clients in-person?

Currently, I am offering virtual therapy but will be returning to some in-person soon, likely late summer. If you'd like to start with virtual and then switch to in-person when I return, reach out and we can discuss that. My in-person availability will likely be Mondays and Saturdays.

How long will I need to be in therapy?

As you might guess, this depends on the person and situation. I've had clients who come in with a specific issue and feel relief or find change within a session or two enough to finish therapy, but this isn't typical. Counseling is often a process of small "shifts" where things start to fall into place without you even exactly noticing what's happening.

It's only when you look back that you see how far you've come--often very far! But it feels so natural to start living more freely and flexibly that it can feel like "of course I'm living this way" when, in fact, aspects of it can be very new.

ACT helps people to learn to live flexibly, in the present moment, in alignment with what you care about. This feels natural, and yet it takes time to make all the little shifts in the way you approach existing to get to the place where you feel like you are just being "you." Frequently, I'd say therapy lasts between 3 and 7 months, but it can be much faster or much slower.

What is your fee?

My fee for a 50-55 minute session is $100.

A sliding scale ($80-100) can be requested based on financial need.

Do you accept insurance?

I am currently accepting clients who are private pay or using their out-of-network benefits to pay for sessions.

What does "pre-licensed" mean?

Being pre-licensed as a counselor means that I've completed my Master's degree in counseling and am currently working towards my LPC license. During this phase, I meet with a supervisor regularly to continue building my skills as a counselor.

Where are you located?

I am a part of Eclipse Therapy Group, which has an office in Haverford at this address:

600 Haverford Road, Suite 205, Haverford, PA 19041

Eclipse Therapy Group is a group practice that specializes in ACT. The owner/founder (John Armando) is an ACT expert. I am fortunate to be his supervisee.

I'm interested in therapy. What are the next steps?

I invite you to connect with me via the contact form, email, or phone if you're interested in therapy. We can have an introductory phone call to discuss your goals and I can answer any questions you might have. That will help us decide if we are a good fit to work together.
